The curriculum has changed and here at Crwys Primary School we are working towards incorporating the four purposes of the new curriculum in order to mould all of our learners in to:

Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.

These are learners who are always up for a challenge. They are not scared of hard work and remain dedicated regardless of the task. They like to question the normal practices and seek alternative ways to solve problems and work together. They are always on the lookout for exciting things to learn and they make sure they use these new skills throughout every element of their lives. They want to continue to build on their skills as they grow up and encounter new challenges.  

Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.

These are very unique. They have a wonderful way of dealing with tricky situations and work their hardest to solve problems by thinking outside of the box. They are also entrepreneurs, looking at situations with an eye for profit and money making. They can be relied on to design products that are unique and solve problems that others shy away from. They are full of imaginative ideas and present their work in a way that they think is appropriate and special.

 

Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.

These are superheroes of the modern world. They are aware of different situations, cultures and beliefs and this allows them to deal with problems in a very unique way. They consider everyone’s opinions and this allows them to gather as much information as possible making them extremely powerful. They have very strong ties to Wales and are eager to pass on their powers of the Welsh language to others. They are always excited to learn about Wales and the wider world, teaching others about diverse values and principles

Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

These enjoy living a healthy and active lifestyle. They are aware of the different food groups that make up a balanced diet and spread the word on the importance of fighting fats. They have a confident but yet peaceful personality and believe strongly in reducing the amount of stress that people place on themselves so that they’re always at their happiest. They deal with conflict in a resolving calm manner and take everyone’s opinions and perceptions in to account before making decisions. They talk about their problems and encourages others to do the same.

At Crwys Primary we strive to deliver an education that is in line with the new curriculum and fall in to the following six areas of learning. Pupils are taught through themes which have carefully been chosen to best deliver our curriculum as to ensure that lessons are enjoyable and engaging while continuing to develop learners to be the best they can be.
